At Factor Talent, we take pride in helping mission-critical organizations find leaders who not only meet technical qualifications but align with the values, pace, and challenges of their industry. Our recent placement of a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at a fast-growing Health Care Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) company is a powerful example of our high-touch, research-driven approach to executive search.
The Challenge
The client, a nationally recognized RCM provider serving major hospitals and health systems, faced growing demands around compliance, data security, and operational resilience. With recent expansion and increasing scrutiny around HIPAA and cybersecurity frameworks, they needed an experienced security executive who could both fortify existing protocols and architect a future-proof strategy for safeguarding patient and financial data.
The ideal candidate needed:
Deep experience with healthcare data privacy and regulatory compliance.
A track record of building security programs from the ground up in fast-paced, mid-market environments.
The executive presence to engage with the board, and the technical fluency to collaborate with engineering and IT teams.
Our Approach
We partnered closely with the company’s CTO and CHRO to define what success would look like—not just in terms of skills, but in leadership style, adaptability, and cultural fit. Leveraging our network across healthcare and security verticals, we conducted a national search with a focus on:
Proven CISOs or Deputy CISOs with P&L-level accountability.
Executives from healthcare IT vendors, payers, and RCM firms.
Leaders fluent in NIST, HITRUST, and SOC 2 frameworks.
Over the course of 28 business days, we conducted outreach to over 200+ passive candidates, engaged 26 in in-depth screening interviews, and submitted a curated shortlist of 4 highly qualified finalists.
The Result
The chosen candidate brought more than 15 years of information security experience, including 7 years as a CISO in a healthtech company with similar scale and complexity. Their approach to risk management, emphasis on cross-functional collaboration, and clear communication style immediately resonated with the executive team.
Since joining, the new CISO has already initiated a top-down security audit, implemented a streamlined incident response protocol, and is working directly with the company’s largest hospital clients to build trust and transparency.
Why It Mattered
In today’s healthcare ecosystem, security is trust—and trust is business. The successful placement of this CISO is helping our client meet increasing regulatory demands, deepen customer confidence, and position themselves for sustainable growth.
At Factor Talent, we’re proud to connect forward-thinking organizations with the leadership they need to thrive—especially when the stakes are this high.
