The Role

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will help drive the evolution of our infrastructure, ensuring it's robust, secure, efficient, and scalable, catering to our rapidly expanding business. You'll pioneer the development of DevOps and DevSecOps methodologies, tools, and technologies, facilitating our seamless growth.

Technical qualifications

  • Adeptness in architecting, deploying, and overseeing resources and services, preferably across Microsoft Azure and AWS.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of observability principles, including monitoring (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios), logging (ELK), tracing (OpenTelemetry), and alerting (Prometheus Alertmanager, PagerDuty).

  • In-depth grasp of IT security protocols: advanced networking (BGP, OSPF, VPN configurations), cloud protection (Azure RBAC and least privilege principle), WAFs, and regulatory compliance.

  • Familiarity with load balancing techniques (HAProxy, Nginx) and CDN configurations (Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront).

  • Hands-on background in database scaling, sharding, replication strategies, and both relational and non-relational databases.

  • Extensive experience in designing and operating complex CI/CD pipelines, ideally with TeamCity or CircleCI.

  • Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, with proficiency in Terraform.

  • Solid grounding in Docker nuances (layers, image optimization) and Kubernetes intricacies (pod lifecycles, services, ingress, storage, Helm charts).

  • Savviness in bash scripting and Python.

  • Skilled application of Git commands and workflows.

    Demonstrable experience building and maintaining:

  • Infrastructure as Code/IT Automation using Terraform.

  • Monitoring and escalation systems and processes.

  • Observability tooling and protocols.

  • Computation: Azure functions.

  • Service meshes: Azure Service Fabric Mesh and Azure's integration with Istio and Linkerd.

  • Infrastructure testing tools (TestInfra or Terratest).

  • Secrets management tools: Vault, AWS Secrets Manager.

  • Design and implementation of CI/CD tooling and workflows.

  • Security: protection,detection, remediationAutomations and Orchestration tooling

  • Planned Scalability (using cloud tooling or custom)

  • Reliability: building out infra that meets a high level (multi 9s) of reliability.

  • Stability planning with implementation

  • Containerization: Some combination of Docker, Kubernetes, CS, EKS,

Compensation

  • $70 - $90 / Hr
