The ideal candidate has strong SQL skills, experience working with data warehouses (preferably Snowflake), a knack for translating raw data into meaningful dashboards and reports, and an interest in developing lightweight product management skills. Approximately 20% of their time will be spent directly interacting with customers to train, support, and guide them on data and analytics best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

    1. Write advanced SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data within Snowflake.

    2. Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and data visualizations using tools like Sisense (nice-to-have) or similar BI platforms.

    3. Analyze user interaction data from our SaaS platform to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and actionable insights.

    4. Support internal teams by creating dashboards that drive data-informed decisions and optimize operational workflows.

  2. Product Stewardship

    1. Serve as the primary owner of product roadmap and feature enhancements, working closely with engineering and product leadership.

    2. Oversee platform maintenance, including version updates and performance tuning.

    3. Ensure that new data pipelines and integrations into Snowflake are well-designed, tested, and documented.

    4. Partner with security and compliance teams to maintain compliance and uphold stringent data privacy standards.

  3. Customer Support & Training (~20% of Time)

    1. Train customers and internal stakeholders on using dashboards, reports, and BI tools, tailoring sessions to various technical skill levels.

    2. Address support tickets related to data quality, reporting issues, or dashboard configuration, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.

    3. Provide guidance during limited data implementations, including mapping and migration efforts, to ensure seamless customer onboarding.

  4. Documentation & Advocacy

    1. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on available reports, dashboards, and best practices for leveraging data in our SaaS environment.

    2. Produce data-driven insights and frameworks that support advocacy initiatives at the state level, helping demonstrate the value and impact of our services.

    3. Contribute to internal knowledge bases, ensuring teams have clear, up-to-date references for all data-related workflows and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience & Technical Skills:

    • 3+ years of experience in a data analytics role, ideally within a SaaS or technology-focused environment.

    • Proficiency in SQL (complex joins, subqueries, advanced transformations) and direct experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouses.

    • Familiarity with Sisense or other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

    • Demonstrated ability to build dashboards and BI solutions that inform strategic decisions.

  • Communication & Product Orientation:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.

    • An interest in product management principles—understanding user needs, gathering feedback, and translating requirements into platform enhancements.

  • Nice-to-Have Skills:

    • Prior healthcare software experience.

    • Understanding of healthcare data and privacy standards such as HIPAA compliance.

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
