The company is seeking a Chief People Officer (CPO) to lead and advance the People function, guiding HR strategy to support a high-performance, mission-aligned culture during a period of growth. Dually reporting to the CEOs of its two businesses, the CPO, along with a team of 20 professionals (including legal and compliance), will oversee all pillars of the People function including Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partnering, Compliance, HR Operations, Organizational Development, and Total Rewards.
This position requires a data-driven, people-centered leader with the ability to foster a high-performance culture rooted in accountability and aligned with our care-focused mission. A commercially minded leader with a solid understanding and comfort in navigating regulatory and compliance opportunities and challenges inherent in a tightly controlled business is critical.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Alignment
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team, providing thought leadership on people strategy, workforce development, and HR alignment with our mission
- Partner with leadership to integrate HR strategies with broader organizational goals, driving talent management, productivity, and a cohesive company culture that supports the business
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Management
- Design and implement strategies to attract, retain, and onboard top talent across caregiving and corporate roles, ensuring quality hiring and cultural alignment
- Collaborate with leaders to create engaging onboarding experiences that support retention and foster alignment with organizational values
- Develop leadership development programs and succession plans to strengthen internal talent pipelines, ensuring continuity and growth
Compliance & Regulatory Excellence
- Ensure all HR policies comply with industry regulations, including HIPAA and Medicaid, to maintain regulatory standards
- Lead the integration of the Compliance team into the People function, establishing clear accountability and alignment with HR
- Set and monitor KPIs that align compliance efforts with operational goals, ensuring continuous adherence to regulatory requirements
Culture, Engagement & Organizational Development
- Foster a positive, people-first culture through initiatives that embody our Care and Compete Principles, enhancing its reputation as an employer of choice
- Implement employee engagement strategies to strengthen morale, align with company values, and promote organizational growth and scalability
- Conduct organizational assessments to optimize HR team structure, operational efficiency, and capacity to meet company expansion goals
Performance Management & Total Rewards
- Establish performance management systems that drive accountability and support continuous growth, aligned with organizational goals
- Oversee competitive total rewards programs, ensuring they support retention, engagement, and organizational performance

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred
- 15+ years of progressive HR/People leadership experience.
- At least 7–10 years in senior leadership roles (VP, SVP, CHRO, or equivalent)
The expected California Salary Range for this position: $250,000 - $300,000 USD
