Senior Director of IT

Opportunity & Role
We are hiring a Sr. Director of IT to develop and implement the company’s strategy around key digital transformation processes and drive technical programs to support increased operational efficiency and security. This is a unique opportunity for a supremely talented individual to sit at the intersection of private equity and the legal industry, an industry in desperate need of innovation.

The IT Director will help inform key technological decisions, including managing the company’s roadmap, overseeing data security and management, maintaining the company’s network, and implementing new systems and infrastructure as we build a new world-class legal services platform. This role will oversee IT strategy and decision-making for our company.

This position will report to the COO.

What You should Bring

  • Sound strategic and critical thinking skills

  • Strong and up-to-date technical skills with several years’ experience working in IT

  • Experience from a law firm or a legal-tech background

  • Ability to communicate complex solutions in clear, concise, and compelling ways in both oral and written forms; even better listening skills

  • Enthusiastic, personable, and positive attitude with an appropriate sense of fun

  • High integrity, a low ego, and ability to take feedback

  • Persistent, proactive, and self-motivated with the ability to work under limited supervision in a team environment

  • Excellence in managing and growing teams with a focus on culture-building

  • Thoughtful and strategic around technological solutions and resources. The ability to independently figure out the competitive landscape as well as what our company needs to do to win

  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust with peers, stakeholders and attorneys

  • Experience clearing roadblocks, mediating, and celebrating successes

  • Preferred in-depth understanding of the MSO model and how to build it


  • Experience with managing the IT organization, or large teams within the IT organization, in a law firm environment required

  • Ability to pivot and reprioritize tasks and initiatives as business and operational needs evolve

  • Ability to deliver complex, technical information to a non-technical audience in both written and verbal communication

  • Skilled in creating and executing project plans, achieving project milestones, driving team results

  • Experience in creating and managing IT budgets

  • Experience in creating and executing technology roadmaps

  • Skilled in relationship building

  • Ability to work across operational teams and the legal community to understand challenges and provide solutions

  • Commitment to operational and service excellence

  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field preferred

  • Top candidates should have multiple years of experience working in a technological role

  • Experience in a law firm or law / legal environment

The base salary range for this position is $190,000 to $235,000 USD per year, along with an annual performance bonus. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This is in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
