Lead Product Designer – Web & Mobile Apps

Our client’s platform is designed as persuasive technology that shapes user behaviors. It is highly personalized. This is distinctly different from rules engines that take a one-size-fits-all approach to reminding patients of care actions. Thus, while rules engines remain constant over time, their learning platform gets better and more personal over time.

This behavior-shaping platform is the only one to have gone through two long-term, randomized clinical trials in cardiovascular health and maternity with a healthcare provider. In both trials, it delivered significant improvements in outcomes and utilization costs.

Their platform is built on the principles of behavior economics, advanced analytics, and connected medical devices with the sole purpose of improving health outcomes through personalized patient engagement. As a self-learning system that generates precision nudges, it is unique in its approach to processing behavior signals – it gets ‘smarter’ over time in shaping user behaviors.

What is the Product Designer's role?

Ideally, you have 3-5 years of experience in HealthTech and can balance well between UX/UI/Interaction design. You’ll be working with a Design Executive and Product & Engineering team to flesh out designs for both mobile and web applications, as well as lend a hand in user research.  This is a unique opportunity to be part of a transformational company embarking on a tall social mission to address a trillion-dollar global problem.  You would have tremendous ownership in delivering applications that directly improve patient lives.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will develop key customer personas and develop products and features to serve their unique needs and goals and be able to explain the rationale of your decisions.

  • You can work with a broad set of ideas - early concepts to well-defined user stories and convert them into meaningful product experiences for users.

  • Design Systems: You will help iterate and maintain style guides and design systems for both web and mobile products

  • You will design end-to-end flows and experiences for our supported platforms, considering constraints across usability, engineering, and clinical.

  • You will design interactions for new features, applying existing design patterns and creating new ones.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate efficiently across engineering, product, and any other teams involved in the design sprints

  • Research: You will help lead and support foundational research efforts, usability testing, user interviews, and synthesis

  • Documentation: You will create and own design documentation, including but not limited to functional and interaction specs, design history files, etc.

Who you are:

  • You relish working quickly, with no boundaries, tight deadlines, and no playbook environment where success and failure are binary.

  • You are a growth hacker, engagement hacker, or pull-all-the-stops hacker that crosses the finish line.

  • You have 5+ years of product design experience building clear, effective interactions to accomplish user goals and have demonstrated experience designing high-impact consumer-facing products with a case study to be able to walk through that shows your thinking and role within the project.

  • You have experience independently executing user research and testing activities, including ethnography studies and usability testing on multiple platforms (web, mobile, etc.)

  • You have experience designing for elderly users and understanding constraints around accessibility.
