Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack

Our client is looking for a thoughtful, well-rounded Senior Software Engineer to work on applications that brands, influencers, agencies and marketing firms are using every day. You will contribute across their web technology stack including APIs and frontend applications to build a best-in-class customer experience, end to end. You will have a huge impact on the company by implementing new features, improving performance, and enabling new feature rollouts on client applications. Passion for social products and building great software is a must.

What You Will Do:
  • Build the web UI, leveraging Javascript and modern frontend frameworks ? Build APIs and micro services that power the frontend applications including web, iOS, and Android
  • Provide and document architecture for new features and drive discussions to reach architectural decisions within your team
  • Ensure high quality, scalable code that considers load, SLAs, and overall performance in your software development
  • Partner with design and product team for new feature development, including providing guidance tradeoffs between development effort and customer experience
  • Deeply empathize with their target customers to inform your development decisions
  • Ensure system stability including monitoring key metrics and helping resolve issues
  • Drive development best practices across the stack within your team
  • Collaborate with team members in sprint ceremonies, code reviews, and interviews
  • Assist in implementing effective processes and raising quality standards
  • Other responsibilities as directed
Who You Are:
  • Strong and practical knowledge of full stack web technologies including Javascript, HTML, CSS, and NodeJS
  • Solid understanding of modern Javascript libraries such as Redux, Apollo, React and StencilJS.
  • Ability to work with modern microservice API technology including REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Ability to work within Amazon Web Services to manage application infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Javascript testing tools and methodology.
  • Solid understanding of build tools such as Webpack, Rollup, Grunt, Gulp, Browserify, and NPM.
  • Solid understanding of CSS processors such as PostCSS, Sass, or Less.
  • Experience working with PHP, Python, or object-oriented languages is a plus.
  • 4+ years of engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent STEM field, or 4+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Expert at using Git and related tools like GitLab, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
  • Deep experience working in a cross functional Scrum team.
  • Austin metro preferred; hybrid work environment - in-office Tuesdays and Wednesdays
