Summary
We're seeking an experienced Design Manager and self-starter ready to make an immediate impact. In this role, you'll unify and lead design teams across our company, creating a cohesive user experience across all three products. You'll establish our design vision, scale our processes, and build a collaborative design culture.
This hands-on leadership position is ideal for someone who excels in fast-paced environments, takes initiative, and tackles complex design challenges with enthusiasm. You'll collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing leaders to create user-centered solutions that empower nonprofit organizations.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and manage a distributed team of product designers across the company.

Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative design culture that empowers designers to take ownership and grow.

Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews to support designers' professional development.

Act as a champion for the design team, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to succeed.
Unified Design Strategy & Vision

Develop a unified design vision for the nonprofit cloud, ensuring a consistent and high-quality user experience across all products.

Lead the creation and maintenance of a scalable design system that promotes visual consistency, efficiency, and innovation.

Advocate for user-centered design, ensuring that design decisions are informed by user research, data, and business goals.

Promote best practices in accessibility and inclusive design across the organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate closely with product management and engineering teams to ensure alignment on product goals and priorities.

Facilitate design reviews, cross-functional planning sessions, and smooth handoffs between design and development teams.

Work with marketing and brand teams to ensure consistent brand identity across all customer touchpoints.

Build strong relationships with stakeholders and act as a trusted partner in shaping the overall product strategy.
Design Operations & Process Improvement

Implement and continuously improve design processes that enable the team to deliver high-quality designs efficiently.

Establish clear workflows for design handoffs, feedback loops, and collaboration with other teams.

Drive a data-driven approach to design, using user feedback, analytics, and A/B testing to inform decisions.

Ensure design operations are aligned with agile product development practices.
Qualifications
Experience
-
6–10 years of experience in product design, with at least 2–4 years managing design teams in SaaS or technology companies.

Proven experience leading design efforts across multiple products or platforms.

Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user-centered design, interaction design, and visual design.

Experience building and scaling design systems in a complex product environment.

A history of being proactive, taking initiative, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
Skills & Competencies -
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing design talent.

Extensive experience with design for accounting software.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

Deep understanding of design principles, including UX, interaction design, and visual design.

Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch) and familiarity with design system management tools.

Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.
Bonus Points

Experience in the nonprofit technology space.

Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.

Background in UX research or experience leading research initiatives.
